About Us
Working together to deliver
life-changing support.

Acorns supports individuals who are diagnosed with learning disabilities, autism and or mental health conditions. Acorns take a holistic approach to support and care needs, ensuring that the whole health of the individual is taken into consideration.
Acorns will facilitate any activity desired by the individual being supported, and Acorns take pride in facilitating as much meaningful activity as possible for the individual to engage in. Acorns provide holistic care and support concentrating on overall health, and ensuring we make individuals feel as confident as possible within the community setting.
Our Story and Founder
Acorns was founded by Sue Vaughan in 2019. Sue recognised a need for high quality services being available for individuals who had been in hospital for long periods of time, and whereby placements had broken down before in different placements. Sue has worked in Health and Social Care for most of her life and thoroughly understands the needs of individuals diagnosed with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.
Sue retired in 2025, though, is still an ambassador for the company, working closely with the new CEO. Sue attends the Acorns monthly socials, ensuring that her incredible therapeutic relationships are maintained with the individuals being supported, and their families. Sue is very much still a part of Acorns and will always be!
The Future of Acorns
Acorns are very much looking forward to what lies ahead, whereby Acorns was sold in October 2024, enabling new investment to secure a new executive and senior leadership team, and further investment to take place within the quality, clinical, compliance, and learning and development aspects of the company. This is extremely important to Acorns, ensuring that the staffing teams feel as confident as possible whilst they provide care and support, and that the quality of the care and support being delivered is at the highest standard.
Acorns have new business owners, a new CEO, a new Finance Director and new HR Lead, who are leading the company to deliver the highest quality of care and support as possible. All of the new senior management team have held long-standing careers within Health and Social Care, understanding the importance of care and support being delivered in the most person-centred way. Acorns are developing new services within the local area to meet the needs of a variety of individuals diagnosed with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. Acorns wish to provide homes for individuals in order for them to feel as confident as possible within the community setting, and engaging in daily living tasks and meaningful activity in a safe and exciting environment.
